service award.
Nominations
are open to the public, and they are accepted in the following categories:
1) Men age 30-59
2) Women age 30-59
3) Men age 60+
4) Women age 60+
5) Distinguished Service
A nomination form is provided on this web site at: NOMINATIONS
The male and female nominees who receive the most votes earn the overall
"Masters Athlete of the Year" award. The six nominees in each
age category above who receive the most votes in their respective divisions
win age group awards. The individual with the most votes in the Distinguished
Service category wins that award; any nominee who gets more than one vote
in that category receives an honorable mention.
The awards
are given out at the annual athletes dinner at the National Masters Track
and Field Championships. The awards are based on performances from the
previous calendar year's competitions.
The Awards
Committee consists of 25 individuals who represent a cross section of
different ages, geographical regions, and event expertise.
